Big five publishers ban AI books, hire AI to edit the rest

Publishers insist they'd never publish AI-written manuscripts, even as layoffs shrink some editorial teams to five or six people doing double or triple the workload with quiet algorithmic help. The policy against robot authors apparently doesn't cover robot editors.
